Operational Excellence / Lean
across the business
“Operational Excellence” and “Lean” can mean different things to business managers.
A top level definition would be “The identification and implementation of an optimum flow of value through our business to the customer, and the elimination or minimisation of any activity or cost which has no value to the customer and/or which impedes a consistent, predictable and cost effective flow.”
Basically, this entails the creation of a culture and skill-set throughout the organisation which continuously identifies, eliminates and avoids all and any waste of human or financial resource, where there is no tangible value to the customer. In a true Lean environment, processes will be self correcting and self improving. This means that non-value variations will immediately become clear and be brought into a continuous improvement process for correction at source.
Enterprise Management takes a two-pronged approach to creating a Lean and excellent operating environment in your company:
1. Following a detailed evaluation and project definition with you we will begin the process by introducing your teams to the principles involved and train them in the techniques and tools used.
2. We will work hand-in-hand with you and your teams to facilitate the practical application of these tools in the selected work environments, ensuring that they follow the cycle of LEARN - DO - LEARN. We will leave you with a greatly improved business process and a team who can keep it that way, and continuously improve it.
