Our Blog
Outsourcing
We have extensive experience in quick, confidential and effective outsourcing of manufacturing and/or administrative and support functions, on a global basis. Our team’s management experience in large scale multinational operations allows us to get into the “nuts & bolts” details, which must be carefully managed and executed for successful outsourcing. Inadequately planned and executed outsourcing projects will be counterproductive and costly.
In general terms, outsourcing of any element of the business can have 3 strategic drivers:
1. Companies can no longer afford the luxury of carrying any element of its business which does not provide a product or service at a competitive cost and profitable margin, while staying in line with, or ahead of, market expectations. Targeting non-core elements for outsourcing may be the answer.
2. In the current accelerated evolution of business systems, technologies and production processes it is extremely difficult, particularly for small or medium companies, to stay ahead in, or even maintain, current knowledge, skills and capabilities in specific aspects of their business. Outsourcing non-core activities to a third party who specialises in this area can be done very competitively.
3. Outsourcing may also be considered as a means to expand the busines with low capital cost. For example to quickly enter another geographical market through partnering some or all of its offerings with a local company.
Outsourcing can include any one administration function such as I.T., Finance, Back Office activities, H.R. etc. It may also include production of components or complete products.
Let us come and discuss the options and implications for your business. We can run a more detailed PMI analysis on your outsource proposal, if needed, to give you more facts, figures and options before proceeding.
